The huipile is a traditional, square-cut blouse that is hand-woven and heavily decorated with embroidered designs.

It is the most important part of the Maya woman’s costume.┬áThe weave, design and style of each huipile is indicative of the village it is from.

The huipiles are made with a back-strap loom by the women of the village, they take approximatively 3 months to make.

This unique huipile is from Chichicastenango, Guatemala
